Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center Exam Information
a) Iğdır University Foreign Students Placement Exam: It is the exam given to trainees who want to attend courses organized by Iğdır University TÖMER and foreign students who will study at Iğdır University. The exam is administered and scored separately for the four basic skills of reading, comprehension, speaking and writing. Each area is evaluated out of twenty-five (25) points, and the entire exam is evaluated out of one hundred (100) points. The candidate must score at least 15 points in each of the skill areas. In this case, the success criterion is measured according to Iğdır University Foreign Students Turkish Exam language level scores.
b) Course Completion Exam: This is the exam administered at the end of each course. The exam to measure the course proficiency level is conducted by the course instructor. In order to be successful and move on to the next level, the candidate must get at least sixty (60) points from the exam. The unsuccessful candidate is given the right to take a second exam only once. If the student fails the course exam for the second time or does not take the exam without an excuse, his registration will be deleted and the course fee will not be refunded in any way. However, if the candidate requests a new exam right with a petition within 5 (five) business days at the latest after the announcement of the exam results, a new exam right may be granted provided that the relevant course fee is paid again.
c) Iğdır University Foreign Students Turkish Exam (IÜYÖTS): Turkish Proficiency Certificate exam is given to students who continue their education at Iğdır University TÖMER until the end of the Advanced Level and gain the right to take the Turkish Proficiency Exam. This exam is qualitatively the same as the Foreign Students Placement Exam and is applied separately in the same areas (Reading, Comprehension, Speaking, Writing). Certificate success level grade is calculated out of 100 full points. At the end of the exam, only those who score at B2 and C1 levels are given a certificate.
